Probe and Jacket in Stainless Steel for Maximum Resistance

Real-time sample
monitoring

Transmittance immersion probes are coupled to our spectrometers and light sources for UV-Vis and Vis-NIR absorbance and transmittance measurements in solutions. Built using two optical fibers, one for illumination and the other for collection, transmittance dip probes are perfect for setups where you need to embed or permanently set the probe tip into a reaction vessel for real-time sample monitoring.

Light is transmitted from the illumination fiber through the sample onto a surface mirror at the tip of the probe where it is reflected and focused onto the collecting fiber within the probe ferrule. The configuration of a transmittance dip probe requires selecting the wavelength range and core diameter. The probe and jacket are made of stainless steel for maximum robustness and durability. Path lengths of 2, 5, and 10 mm are available by just changing the tip of the probe. Optionally, Sarspec can offer an adjustable tip that allows the user to set manually the optical path length.
