Collecting Lens

The collecting lens is a cylindrical lens fixed in front of the detector for focusing the entire height of the monochromatic light onto the shorter detector pixels.

These optical elements increase the light collection efficiency on the spectrometer. The special design from Sarspec results in a significant increase in sensitivity, depending on the configuration of the spectrometer. The inclusion of a collecting lens in a spectrometer detector is extremely useful for low-light-level applications, which require high sensitivity.

The collecting lens is a standard element in every configuration of the SENSE series. Despite not being included in the standard versions of the FLEX, FLEX +, and X-RES series, it’s a standard item in the Improved Sensitivity versions.
