The ProNIR series is the perfect solution for those who are looking for a powerful and easy-to-use spectrometer for absorbance, transmittance, and reflectance measurements across the NIR region. The improved optical bench design combined with the highly-photosensitive thermoelectrically cooled InGaAs detector offer a high level of sensitivity, great stability, and a low dark current performance, even in low-light-level conditions.
Other features, such as power status indicator, user-interchangeable slits and optical filters, 18-bit AD converter, and triggering functions provide the best flexibility to any spectroscopic setup where ProNIR is set. ProNIR is available in three configurations covering different wavelengths from 850 to 2500 nm, which makes it possible to tailor the spectrometer with the best sensitivity and performance for the desired application.
Cold Detector, Hot Performance!
The ProNIR series detector is equipped with a thermoelectric cooler capable of decreasing the temperature of the InGaAs photodiode array, as low as -20 ºC. This major feature reduces the background noise and improves the thermal stability of the spectrometer. This ensures a strong acquisition reliability during a long operating period.
Control the sensitivity and optical resolution of your spectrometer
With the ProNIR, you can take advantage of interchangeable slits and optical filters. User-interchangeable slits offer an easy and simple way of setting the ideal optical resolution/sensitivity, while interchangeable optical filters make it possible to narrow the operational wavelength range of the spectrometer. These features allow you to change from an absorbance to a reflectance setup in just a few minutes. Add a Slit Kit to your order and get all the flexibility you need.
Easy integration in your setup
The SMA fiber optic connector allows the simple attachment of ProNIR to a wide range of spectroscopic setups without complex optical alignments. This flexibility is complemented by the triggering function, which includes triggers in/out and delays. ProNIR and Sarspec light sources can be both remotely controlled with our new SPEC Hub.
The best photosensitivity over a selected range
ProNIR is available in three detection ranges (850-1450 nm, 950-1700 nm, and 900-2500 nm). In addition to the InGaAs detection range, users can also customize the operational wavelength and optical resolution of the ProNIR through the available gratings. This customization will make it possible to tailor the instrument for optimum performance in your application.
A wider range for more information
The ProNIR series can be easily combined with any of our UV-Vis-NIR Series (FLEX, FLEX+, SENSE, or X-RES) to obtain a wide range absorption, transmission, and reflectance spectrum. The simultaneous acquisition method is a major feature included in the new LightScan 2.0 software. It allows the user to acquire a full spectrum from 185 to 2500 nm in a single determination, and just within a few miliseconds.

Pre-Configured Spectrometers
ProNIR is available in pre-configured narrow-range version (850-1450 nm), and in extended-range versions (950-1700 nm or 900-2500 nm) versions. The specifications of each pre-configured ProNIR version are in the table below.
User-Configured Spectrometers
ProNIR offers maximum flexibility with a build-your-own configuration. By selecting each component of the optical bench, which includes the entrance slit, optical filter, diffraction grating and detection range, you can optimize your ProNIR spectrometer for parameters such as operational spectral range and optical resolution and meet your application demands. Contact Sarspec Team to get more information about the ProNIR user-customizable configuration.
Sarspec has a new tool that allows each user to configure the desired configuration, go to our spectrometer configurator page and get your user-configured spectrometer in minutes.
Typical Applications
The NIR Spectroscopy market is in expansion. During the last years, the industry’s needs in raw material classification, polymer analysis, moisture quantification, saturated fatty acid identification, among many others, lead to the development of different NIR instrumentation, mainly miniaturized portable solutions. These are are robust and can be easily integrated in an industrial environment. Contact the Sarspec Team to get more information about the ProNIR series.
