Ultimate sensitivity is easily achieved with SENSE, the perfect spectrometer for those who require the best spectral performance for the most demanding low-light-level applications such as the detection of fluorescence and phosphorescence emissions. Because SENSE is equipped with a thermoelectrically (TE) cooled back-thinned CCD detector, it offers a very high signal-to-noise ratio performance, a high dynamic range, low dark counts, and enables low-light-level detection with low noise when using for long integration times.

Features such as power status indicator, user-interchangeable slits and optical filters, 18-bit A/D converter, battery pack, and onboard spectral buffer turn SENSE into an industry-leading spectrometer capable of delivering incredible flexibility and performance to your spectroscopic setup. SENSE is available in a ready-to-use (for more common applications) and user-customized (for more specific applications) where the user can select in factory different components that can result, for example, in narrower operation ranges or different optical resolutions.

Control the sensitivity and resolution of your spectrometer

With the SENSE, you can take advantage of interchangeable slits and optical filters. User-interchangeable slits offer an easy and simple way of setting the ideal optical resolution/sensitivity while interchangeable optical filters provide the user with the ability to narrow the operational wavelength range of the spectrometer. Easy to integrate in your setup

The SMA fiber optic connector allows for a simple attachment of SENSE to a wide range of spectroscopic setups without the need for complex optical alignments. This flexibility is complemented with a trigger integration tool, which includes triggers in/out and delays. SENSE and all spectroscopic components of your setup can be centralized for full control with our new SPEC Hub solution.

Our approach with SENSE was to deliver an industry-leading performance spectrometer while relentlessly focusing on improving the sensitivity. The low-noise electronics and 18-bit A/D converter deliver a high dynamic range while the internal spectral buffer helps to ensure the data integrity at high acquisition rates. SENSE includes also a battery pack that helps you to perform measurements on the field.

The best sensitivity over the entire wavelength range

The back-thinned CCD detector from SENSE provides a wide spectral range with a great quantum efficiency of up to 90 % (at peak). The optimum operational spectral range and optical resolution for each application are customizable by selecting the ideal diffraction grating from those available.

By selecting each component of the optical bench, which includes the entrance slit, optical filter, diffraction grating and collecting lens, you can optimize your SENSE for parameters such as operational spectral range, optical resolution, and sensitivity and ideally meet your application demands.
