Relative reflectance measurements calculate the proportional amount of reflected light from a sample against to the amount of reflected light from a reference, which is assumed to have a reflectance of 100 %. For diffuse reflectance measurements, Sarspec offers a set of references made out of optical polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) with 98%, 50% and 10% of reflectivity from 250 to 2500 nm.

These references are hydrophobic and chemically inert, therefore can be cleaned. Furthermore, these references also offer a long term stability, even in UV measurements. For specular reflectance measurements, Sarspec offers a fused silica substrate coated with Al-MgF2 for high specular reflectivity from 250 to 2500 nm.
